The Journey of Your Tap Water

Your tap water goes through six insane steps before you can drink it. First,

metal screens catch all the big stuff like leaves and trash. Then they add this

chemical called alum that forms sticky clumps to trap floating waste. These clumps sink

to the bottom of a settling tank while cleaner water rises to the top. Next,

the water pushes through sand and charcoal filters to catch anything left behind.

They blast it with chlorine to kill bacteria and microorganisms. Finally, it sits in storage

tanks completely clear and safe. That glass of water you just chugged went through more
